TURUNC

Yesterday early am ,whilst still cool,i took a run up a steep mountain pass to an ancient little bay situated about 3 km outside of Turunc . There's a pretty decrepit ruin right on top with the most stunning views at just after sunrise.

Had no camera so no pics,.....on my way back i always try to find out of the way restaurants ,but hadn't yet been successful here in Turunc,...till yesterday.

Had possibly the best turkish meal in a family run restaurant where the old man(obviously the chef) strolls around with one of those tall white chef hats.

Had home madechicken soup along with a freshly baked huge ,crusty  bread,.... the most tasty, oven baked mousaka ever,.....and a huge really fresh salad .

Cost,.....R200

We'll be back later today!

This entire holiday has been about relaxing at the beach,...great food and not too much walking due to Cheryl's knee problem.

We'd seen so many of the old roman/greek ruins on our previous 3 trips of around amonth each time (go back in this blog to see),....and have seen a couple more this time around, but thats what we came for this time, and that's exactly what we got..

It's been between 29 and 35degreesC,.....we haven't as yet seen a cloud in the sky......perfect way to get away from what remains of winter, not to mention stage 4 to stage 6 BLACKOUTS (let'sgive them the right name!)......for virtually the entire duration of our holiday so far.

Somehow, only when one gets away from the prssent chaos of our beloved country is one able to place the absolute abnormality of the murder, rape, corruption, and  general danger into perspective.

No other country I've visited (and these include Colombia,Honduras,Mexico) is one subject to 8 hours per day of blackouts,70 murders every single day,70 people killed every day on our roads.....daily reports of massive corruption ,....to mention just a few!Such a pity!

Anyway,....today the beach suddenly ,literally emptied at around 12,......checked the water for aTsunami perhaps.

Nope it was the Brits,....off to watch the Queens funeral at 13h00.

When we passed the pubs at 3 they were literally crammed into every pub,....pints in hand ,and just about done with their bangers and mash and toad in the hole.

Bless em!
