TURUNC

 Pronounced "Turunch" is another old fishing village gentrified to boutique type venue and situated suitably distant from the extremely commercialised and sprawling Marmaris.

Marmaris has clearly become an obviously very english holiday venue ,with virtually nothing turkish going on.

Virtually every dish comes with "cips" and offers a full english breakfast..

We passed at least 3 pubs named "DELBOYS" ,.....an old traditional turkish name.....NOT!

Left the delightful Kas at exactly 9am after another great breakfast .Seamlessly changed buses at Fethiye Otogar 2 hours later,and then again 2,5 hours after that for a dolmus across the steepest mountain pass into another small, charming Turunc.

I'd booked our most expensive accommodation here,along with a pool and it's own private beach situated 100m down the road.For rhe record,....AMOSSIA HOTEL,.....the best at R1200/night!

After an Absolutely awesome breakfast we headed for the beach a d have just returned to finish off the afternoon at the poolside before loooki g for a proper turkish place to eat tonight (yeah mostly brits here too but older and wealthier)

Spotted an english couple in the local store down the way here purchasing ehat seemed tobe their entire store of "fags" as they were off home today.

They're R30 a pack here!

I commented,...."well that should see you sorted for a week or two.?" They responded ,....."yeah you're damn right mate,....cost 11 pounds a pack in the UK!"

Shit,....that's enough to get anyone quitting.

Oh,.... i spotted a DELBOYS pub here as well last night.Also a couple of pub quizzes,.....qnd one can watch the entire funeral of Her Majesty in the comfort of a local pub at 13h00 on Monday.

Yeah,....would love to but ithink i have another appointment?
