AN BANG BEACH

Wasn't going to hire a m/cycle at this place so we decided to use the free bicycles offered at most hotels here.

It's  extremely flat with rice paddy's and waterbuffa

lo en route to the beach located (I guess) around 4km away.

Should be pretty easy right,....wrong!

Cheryl's  clearly not heard of that old adage ... "it's  like riding a bike....you never forget".

Last time we were here she had a bit of trouble getting going and insisted on getting off at every intersection or turn in the road. But she eventually got the hang of it (well sort of?).

This time she insisted on not letting me raise  the saddle and still had trouble raising the momentum to get going, but we got there (and back)

With her VERY low saddle she looked very much like she was riding a recumbent and wouldn't have looked out of place in a monty python "silly rides" skit.

Sorry guys,I didn't take a pic. We have our dignity you know!

Anyway,...spent a good 5 hours at the beach on our recliners plus umbrella (R65),then back to the hotel for a swim and a shower  before heading  off to the old town located around 2kn away.
