SOME AMAZING VIET FOOD

HANOI CATHEDRAL

Catholic landmark cathedral located just a couple of blocks from Hoan Kiem lake

Back in Hanoi

Flew back at midday, and we're  back in our same hotel near Hoan Kiem lake.

We hadn't  eaten since breakfast so we popped out for another incredibly delicious bun cha at BUN CHA HANG MAHN.

We could never have had one each, so we shared one and it was more than enough till we eat again tonight (R50 Total).

We're  meeting up later for dinner with Jonathan Cohen, who's son Brett has been working out here for a couple of years now.

Jon had been for many years, a mainstay at FAIRCAPE Property managers. Brett had ,for a year or so, worked as our property manager at stableyard.

Probably the best we've  had,but sadly they've  both left FAIRCAPE some time ago.

VIETNOM EATERY

Had our last supper in Danang at this great restaurant staffed by hearing/speech impaired youngsters.....the place we had coffee at after breakfast this morning had a similar setup.

Incredibly efficient kids!

EARLY MORNING EXERCISE

Like elsewhere throughout Vietnam  locals of all ages are out early (pics taken @ 6am) exercising and swimming it up.

Amazing people!

Banh Xeo

banh xeo....one of my favorites.

A crispy fried turmeric infused pancake ,cut into oieces and then wrapped in rice paper, together with herbs papaya and greens ,into tube's,....then dipped in a peanut/chilli/fish sauce as it's devoured.
Cheryl's become quite an expert "wrapper".

BACK IN DANANG

Taxied back to Danang 2day,...back to the SENORITA hotel.

We found a place to eat this evening called VIETNOM EATERY. It's run with exclusively young hearing impaired staff and was the best meal we've  had to date in Vietnam.

Fried rice with garlic prawns and an awesome sauce,....comes with a pineapple infused broth (on the side) which you're  supposed to sip between bites.

Not sure how they do it but the rice was the tastiest (and crunchiest) I've ever had.

Another dish comprised crispy fried noodles with fresh greens and sprouts, and thinly sliced pork, topped with a delicious sauce.

Incredible tastes and texture combos

The pool is the one at the previous hotel in Hoi an....was somehow a lot cooler than the average pool here (around 27).
