It's a two hour trip up to a real quaint little village called ANADOLU KIVAGI which specializes in fish due to its exposure to all things maritime.
In fact it's also an old navy base with a couple of armed camouflage uniformed troops dotted around the vicinity.
We'd been up here last time we were in Istanbul but I had no idea that a steep walk up the only road out of "town" led to an historic (albeit decrepit) Christian castle which had,in times gone by,guarded the one side of the strait (Asian side).
On the other (European) side stood a similar castle.
The trip took the entire day and we landed up back at our hotel, after eating en route back,at 6:30pm.
Tomorrow we're going on an organized tour to GALIPOLLI and then onto the town of Canakalle near TROY.
Sorry about the crappy photos,.......this $&@&$ing iPhone 5s is a nightmare and it's virtually impossible to get it to focus?
Driving me nuts and the only way I can get any shot at all is to switch to camera and immediately click without checking the content, before it refocuses!
So not even possible to zoom in 😁😜😅
