TO HOI AN

We headed off at 8:30am yesterday to Hoi An ,a national heritage town with a very strong French influence.
The bus we’d booked on took in the Hai Van pass, and various other stops en route, designed to give the myriad traders at each stop an opportunity to ply their trade with captive tourists.
Never been one for that “touristy” type of thing.
Arrived at around 2:30 and we had soon showered and made our way on the free bicycles into the main town.
Certainly the nicest, and most cosmopolitan we’ve seen to date.
And we’re in a great, very tastefully decorated room with a pool and free bike access.
Last night we cycled down, just beyond the town, to an amazing local restaurant situated right on the banks of the main river .
Prawns 🍤 and the crispiest, French fries with beers,......cost R65.
Simply left the bikes on the side of the road as one enters the town,.......as suggested by the owners.
Cheryl landed up asking the proprietor again on our return and she just smiled and didn’t seem to understand why we still weren’t sure we could actually do that without a threat of it bring stolen.
Another sign of the abnormal society we have come to believe is normal?
