AROUND HOI AN

We hired a little Yamaha today and made our way to one of the beaches located just a few km out of town.
First time we’d been in the sea here (South China sea I think) and it turns out to be really pleasantly warm (29 degrees) and crystal clear,...very little apparent pollution.
En route back to the hotel we stopped at an interesting little tacos place selling the most delicious “fusion” tacos filled with either fish, chicken or pork,....deep fried and filled with a combo of wasabi/coleslaw,....yoghurt/salad,.....ginger /lime,
Always washed down with an ice cold beer 🍻πŸ€ͺ
Cost,......again around the standard equivalent of R65.
A quick dip in the hotel pool to wash off the salt,.......followed by a rest up during the hottest part of the day in our air conditioned room.
It gets dark here at around 6pm when we generally make our way (on the bike now),a few km away,to a local eating place located on a pier and overlooking an array of colourful  boats coming and going.

Tonight we had a “ hotpot “ we’d seen last night, and which appeared to be a speciality .
It comprises a pot containing a ready made “broth” accompanied by bits of the catch of he day ,.......raw fish,....prawns,...squid,......ochre,.....noodles,....fish sauce,....soy sauce.
A firefighter is lit under the pot and brought to the boil and the fish bits addded.
Within minutes the contents are perfectly cooked and one adds the fish sauce etc.
The contents are ladled into side bowls, and noodles added to make a delicious fish bouillabaisse.
Awesome! πŸ˜„
