Look we’re used to it now when travelling but it was great to find that our hotel here is located smack bang in the heart of the old French quarter,....just a block away from the old French Cathedral,and 100 meters from the lake .
We’d been recommended ( hotel staff) to try one of the oldest (1966) little local restaurants for one of Hanoi’s specialities,......Bun cha for an early dinner before passing out.
Fried meatballs wrapped in spinach with tender pork pieces made in a type of broth,.....to which one adds noodles and greens,.....chili and garlic to soak up the most incredibly tasty broth🤪.....check out the pics.
And all of this,....with beers for the grand total of R120 for the lot.
Then a quick walk down to the lake,.....surrounded by coffee shops and the like,and back to the hotel for a good kip😁
